It has never occured to Precious Ramotswe that there might be disadvantages to being the best-known lady detective in Botswana. But when she receives a threatenng anonymous letter from someone who knows exactly where to find her, she is compelled to reconsider her unconquerable belief in a kind world. Her husband Mr J. L. B. Matekoni has no such qualms, however - he is hopeful of an unlikely miracle for their foster daughter Motholeli.
